November 29, 2010 David Elder joins Stikeman Elliott's Ottawa officeStikeman Elliott is pleased to announce that David Elder has joined the firm in the Ottawa office. David will be a member of the firm’s Telecommunications, Government Relations and Competition Practice Groups. David provides legal and strategic advice with respect to a wide range of matters relating to broadcasting and telecommunications, competition, privacy and lawful access to telecommunications. He has extensive experience advocating on behalf of clients before the CRTC, Industry Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and various Parliamentary Committees. His broad range of clients includes broadcasters, distributors, Internet content providers, software-as-a-service providers, property developers, government departments and agencies, industry associations and wired and wireless telecommunications service providers. Prior to joining Stikeman Elliott, David had his own communications law and privacy practice. He was formerly Vice President, Regulatory Law with Bell Canada, where he also served as Bell Privacy Ombudsman. He has also served as Legal Counsel to the CRTC.
